GRAPEFRUIT CYCLE. ACRYLIC, PENCIL ON CANVAS. 12’ x 6’
LOCATION: HOLLYWOOD HILLS , CALIFORNIA
This properties verdant, natural environment became the inspiration to bring the outside in.
Tucked away in a private residence in the Hollywood hills this commission was completed in under three months.
The first month was used to sketch the various flora, fauna and fruit varietals on site.
The second and third months were spent drawing into multiple layers of thick, tinted glaze to create the organic composition.
Thanks to the craftsmen at fine art stretcher bars I was able to work on one enormous seamless hand primed surface.
SANCTUARY IN WHITE. ACRYLIC ON LINEN, 4• 48”x35”
SANCTUARY IN WHITE. DETAIL
This commission was created to bring new life to the pre existing decorative wall moulding in the master bedroom.
The custom linen wrapped panels feature fine line work of pencil and multiple glazes of translucent white.
These are layered over paintings of the properties natural features including ginko leaf, bamboo trees, and my common california theme of bougainvilla flowers.
This was an exciting project initiated by return collectors with an eye for beauty. A prominent producer and his actress wife whose home life is filled with entertaining.
